Getting your confessions to work for you

Making confessions is one of the ways by which you as a believer can translate your legal realities into vital realities in this earth realm, but except you understand the very basics of confession, these realities will continue to elude you.

The confession of your faith is not an end in itself, it is simply a means to an end. The goal of your confession is first to bring you to the realm where the exercise of your faith becomes an unconscious process as you get your thoughts to align with whatever it is you are confessing, and secondly, to give voice to your faith as a testimony of victory before heaven and before hell with respect to where you stand regarding the situation you are confronted with. The point at which many believers miss it with respect to their confession of faith is that they think that what they are confessing will only come to pass if they are able to confess it long and fast enough. This is a wrong thought and will usually lead to a frustrating experience because it is contrary to scriptures. Thinking you can receive your confessions simply by the number of times you make the confessions is an attempt to receive by works rather than by grace, on the premises of the finished work of Christ.

Eph. 2: 8 not of works lest any man should boast.

If the number of confessions you make is directly equal to the results you get, then it has become by works, so then you can boast about how often you make confessions to get results, but nothing could be farther from the truth than this.

Your confessions like we said earlier is just a means to an end, it is meant to get you to the place where you believe beyond any reasonable doubt that that confession is yours to possess. When your confessions gets you to that point where your heart totally agrees with the confessions of your mouth, then your confession is a done deal. There are confessions that I stuck with for years before I ever saw the manifestation, there also confessions that I've been holding unto for years now, and I haven't yet seen the manifestation, but I'm certain that as surely as the dawn, they are coming to pass. So don't let go of your confessions simply because they haven't yet come to pass, hold on fervently and don't let go.

The challenge with many believers is that they abandon their confessions half way because they have only confessed so far and have not seen any result yet. Perhaps it could be that your confession has not yet aligned with your heart to the point that you know that what you are confessing is yours to possess, so then you must persevere in staying with that confession and possibly do it more often with some emotions attached, till you get to that point where your conscience becomes altered by those confessions, at that point no force on earth can stop the realization.

While we understand the vital place our confessions hold, you must also understand the vital place of prayers in fanning the flames of your confessions. When that prayer backing is lacking in your confessions, it is almost guaranteed that you won’t see those confessions through to the end, the initial flames will pass out in no time and you will be left struggling with mere empty confessions devoid of any power to accomplish them. However, if you take your place in prayers, praying consistently in the spirit, not only will you continue to fan into flames your confessions, but those confessions will become more and more robust, and your capacity to receive what you are confessing will be enlarged. Sometimes our capacity to hold what we are confessing is really limited but as we keep up those confessions and continue to spend time in prayers, our capacity to hold the confessions will be increased.

Let me also quickly emphasize the place of meditating on the word of God. Sometimes you have to pause your confession and think deeply about it in line with the word. This will stir up faith in your heart and help you hold your place in those confessions against any contrary evidence.
To tie up everything, you must understand that confessions are what we live by as believers, but we are not looking up to our confessions to get us the results we want, we are looking rather to the finished work of Christ Jesus and the power of God to bring those things to bear in our lives. Our confessions only help to bring us to the place where our heart is in perfect alignment with the word of God on our lips. Once we arrive at this point, our confessions are justified and we can move on to even greater and deeper confessions.

When you understand all these, you will begin to get more results from your confessions. Remember again the place of prayer and meditating on the word of God in coming into full possession of your confessions. I believe you are set for the best days of your life so I welcome you to an Adventure in faith.

Becoming a Person of Value

Over the years, I have come to realize that everyone likes to associate with people of value. It means that if you are someone who commands value, people will be drawn to you. If not, they will not. Now, suppose you find yourself always seeking to associate with others whom you consider valuable, but discover that not many people are eager to associate with you — this could simply mean that you are not yet commanding enough value. I use the words “not yet” intentionally, because I am mindful that we can all command great value if we take the right steps. Here are a few steps to help you truly become a person of value: 1. Have the Right Perspective The first step to becoming a person of value is to have the right perspective of who you are — who you are in Christ and the graces God has bestowed upon you. I do not think you can be of worth to yourself or to others if you do not first understand who you are in Christ. Remember, you are valuable in the sight of God, which is why He was wil...

Becoming a Person of Value - Part 2

In the first part of this series, I shared the first two steps to becoming a person of value: 1. Having the right perspective 2. Valuing people These are foundational principles for building true value. Today, I’ll share three additional steps that can help you on this journey. But remember—these steps only work when you internalize and practice them consistently. It’s not enough to know them; you must live them. 3. Value Knowledge and Learning The third step to becoming a person of value is to develop an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Be a lifelong learner, and to do that, you must remain humble. No matter how knowledgeable you are, there is always something to learn—even from those who may know less than you in other areas. As a Christian, growing in the knowledge of God is essential. It will strengthen your foundation in times of trials and storms. Keep pressing toward deeper understanding of Him (Philippians 3:13-14). The pursuit of God is the most noble quest of all. However...

Choose Honour

Some biblical stories can seem almost unreal to the modern mind, yet they hold timeless truths. One such story is the unfolding drama between King Saul and David, before David eventually ascended the throne of Israel. Naturally, we celebrate David as the hero in this narrative, and Saul is often remembered unfavorably. However, there are notable traits in King Saul that leaders and people of influence today can learn from. After all, Saul took a significant risk by allowing a young, unproven David to face Goliath, potentially putting the entire nation at the mercy of the Philistines. That kind of trust, against all odds, reveals a side of Saul that perhaps explains why he was chosen by God to lead in the first place. But the spotlight of this piece is on David—the man after God’s own heart. And rightly so, because David exemplified a profound understanding of honour, especially in how it relates to divine promotion and spiritual elevation. Consider this: David was relentlessly pursued ...
