When you think of what the believer’s position should be at all times, nothing short of what the Apostle John said in 3 Jn. 2 ( Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth) should come to mind. The idea really is that our outward prosperity must match our inward or soul prosperity. The question about whether God wants us to prosper or not does not even arise. His desire is for us to prosper and be in good health to enjoy the prosperity. So why then is it that some believers are not prospering as they should? It is good that we have many believers who are prospering in every area of life, but there are some also who are not prospering at all, the only good thing to their credit is that they are saved, but the fact remains that you are not totally free without your substance.
