Not a hoof must be left behind

When you think of what the believer’s position should be at all times, nothing short of what the Apostle John said in 3 Jn. 2 (Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth) should come to mind. The idea really is that our outward prosperity must match our inward or soul prosperity. The question about whether God wants us to prosper or not does not even arise. His desire is for us to prosper and be in good health to enjoy the prosperity. So why then is it that some believers are not prospering as they should? It is good that we have many believers who are prospering in every area of life, but there are some also who are not prospering at all, the only good thing to their credit is that they are saved, but the fact remains that you are not totally free without your substance.

Looking carefully at the story of the children of Israel, their deliverance from Egypt, they had the options of serving God as slaves in Egypt (Exo.8:25-28 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.  And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?  We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he shall command us.  And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away) or exiting Egypt to go serve God without any substance (Exo.10:24-26 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.  And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.  Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind). Moses turned down all Pharaoh’s options because he knew clearly that they couldn’t serve God properly without their substance.

Today, many believers have taken the option of leaving Egypt without their substance, many have the misconception that they are poor because they are Christians, but nothing can be further from truth. God wants you saved with your substance, because your substance will be meaningful in your service to God, to promote His work and His kingdom, and Jesus paid the full price for your prosperity (2 Cor.8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich). The irony is that God isn’t going to come down to help you get your substance, you will have to take a stand against the devil to get your substance just like Moses stood against Pharaoh. On the day that Israel was saved from Egypt, not a hoof was left behind of their substance, and not only that, they also dispossessed the Egyptians (Exo.12:36 The Lord had made the Egyptians friendly toward the people of Israel, and they gave them whatever they asked for. In this way they carried away the wealth of the Egyptians when they left Egypt CEV). Today, it seems like it is the other way round; people get saved and lost all their substance to the enemy, rather than them dispossessing the enemy. Your salvation experience must be total, you cannot be saved with your substance held back by the enemy when you require the same substance in your service to God. Your service to God cannot be thorough without you substance, and to be saved and remain poor is synonymous to escaping and abandoning your substance in Egypt just like Moses did when he first escaped to the land of Median. He eventually returned to claim all that he left behind, so for you also, it is time to get back to claim all your substance still in custody of the enemy.

You may say God hasn’t appeared to you just like He did to Moses in the burning bush, but He is now appearing to you through this write-up. You may also say you don’t have any rod in your hand like Moses with which to confront the enemy, but you have the word of God and the power of God at your disposal. Perhaps you merely escaped out of Egypt as it were, in your salvation experience, your time to get back to reclaim all that is yours is now. It may not come easy because the enemy will do all he can to resist you taking back all that is yours just like Pharaoh resisted Israel, even through all the plagues, but you will certainly get everything back by the strong and mighty hand of God. It is time to take your place in prayer and in the word of God to reclaim your husband, your wife, your children, your money, your job, your promotion, your business, your health, and all your substance. It doesn’t matter for how long the enemy has held back your substance, I can assure you that you can get them back. Moses was an escapee for forty years, but he returned to get all his substance, so you too can. For as long as Moses was away, Pharaoh held on to everything, but when he returned in the power of God, Pharaoh had to give way. The enemy will attempt to negotiate with you to take some and forget about the others, but you must resist and hold your ground in faith, not a hoof of yours must be left behind in the enemy’s camp.

Shalom!

Updated: Don’t Bind the Brook, Don’t Rebuke the Ravens - Simple Lesson in Obedience

Over the years I have come to understand the place of simple obedience to the instructions of God, and the huge difference it could make in one’s life. I have also come to see how easy believers can be in disobedience, yet be able to cover up with some form of spiritual activity, then in the end attempt to pass on the responsibility for their failures on God.   This can possibly account for one of the biggest reasons why there are believers who seem not to be making progress in life in spite of their seeming spirituality. The situation is even more compounded when older believers who should set the example for younger believers fall into this group. The implication is that there will be a generation of young believers who cannot seem to find the proper alignment between the Christian faith and being productive in life.   The story of the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17, clearly illustrates my point.  The Word of the Lord had come to the prophet to camp by the bro...

Blessed By Association - Updated

Abraham by God’s calling had become a blessed man walking in the blessing. God appeared to him, changed his name and gave him the covenant of circumcision. You would have thought that all this will happen to just Abraham and his family, but not so, the blessing as we see it (Gen 17: 12-14) was also for as many as were with Abraham at that time. They came into the lineage of blessing simply by association with the man Abraham, they were to be circumcised just like Abraham, and came under the same covenant blessing. These people who were associated with Abraham at that time, including his household servants, enjoyed the most of the covenant that God Almighty gave to him. It therefore goes to show that there are associations in life that will forever set you up for the blessing. That is why you must treasure the relationships that God brings into your life, and never take them for granted.  In one of the piece published on this blog,  Identity by association , it was emphasized t...

Flourishing in Hard Times

No doubt we are in very challenging times, there seems to be crisis everywhere, and most economies in the world are affected. Many Christians have become casualties of the the economic hardship that is raging across the world, and worst still is that many seem really helpless even in the face of the obvious help that God has promised His people.   This piece seeks to highlight a few important points that could be of significance in helping the believer to flourish in these hard times.   1.      Know that your sins are forgiven and enter His rest   And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. Gen.26:1   The bible records that that there was a famine in the land and Isaac moved to Gerar. Gerar signifies a lodging place or a place of rest. Many believers have yet to come to that place of rest in Christ. They still live with a consc...
