Why isn’t it working? Part IV

This is the concluding part of our series – why isn’t it working? If you have followed from the first part, then by now you are ready to begin to get results by putting the things you have learnt into good use. Remember that these steps should be taken in the order in which they have been outlined. Again, we remain grateful to the life and ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin, from which we have gleaned these truths. You may be interested in taking a personal study of his book – What to do when faith seems weak & victory lost, out of which these series has come from. Now, to the concluding steps;

Step 9. Give glory to God even before it comes into manifestation.
Thanksgiving before the manifestation is an act of faith, it means that you are convinced not only in the ability of God but also in His willingness to grant your desire to the point that you are already thanking Him for the result even though it is yet to manifest physically. When the scripture described Abraham as a man of faith, it was because he gave glory to God for something that hadn’t even manifested.

Rom 4: 19-21
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Abraham was persuaded that God would do what he had promised, he was so convinced that he gave glory to God long ahead of the manifestation. In the words of Kenneth E. Hagin “In your waking moments, think on the greatness of God and His goodness – count your blessings. Lift your heart to God constantly in gratitude and increasing power for what He has done and for what He is doing for you now.”  As a matter of fact, the true test of your faith lies in what you do through the waiting time between when you prayed and when the result manifest. Many are waiting to see some positive signs and then they begin to thank God, but faith will not wait to see any sign because it considers that it has received and so will go ahead to give glory to God.

Step 10. Act as though you have received what you ask
This is what finally separates the men from the boys. How can you act though you have received? Understanding that receiving is spiritual and having is physical is the key. When you act as though you have received, that is still in the spiritual realm, the physical manifestation means you now have whatever it is you desire. This is exactly what Mark 11:24 is saying …believe you receive…then you shall have. You don’t try to reverse the order by trying to have before you believe that you have received, that will be walking by sight and not by faith. There is always a way you can act in faith to show that you have received your desire and that is the corresponding action to your faith. Make sure you are not acting out of presumption but in true faith.

To conclude this series, you must remember that the moment you begin to wonder why God has not answered your prayers or the moment you begin to look around for some reason why things are not working, you are slipping into the zone of defeat. Never under any circumstance, question the will of God in the matter of unanswered prayers, since He has already promised that you can have whatever you ask if you do not doubt. The truth remains that whether your prayers are answered depends more on you than it does on God.

Finally, when you come to the place where you have prayed and held on tightly to your confession of the word of God concerning you, and it just seems like you are not seeing the manifestation, just keep holding out in faith and continue to believe in the love that God has for you. You may even be at a point where you no longer even know what to believe again, your faith so disjointed that you can’t even gather yourself together to believe anything. Well, there is one thing you can do – believe that God loves you and wants the best for you. Like we say, God knows tomorrow better than you know yesterday and He will always act in your best interest, to bring you into the fulness of your inheritance in Christ.

Shalom!

Updated: Don’t Bind the Brook, Don’t Rebuke the Ravens - Simple Lesson in Obedience

  Over the years I have come to understand the place of simple obedience to the instructions of God, and the huge difference it could make in one’s life. I have also come to see how easy believers can be in disobedience, yet be able to cover up with some form of spiritual activity, then in the end attempt to pass on the responsibility for their failures on God.   This can possibly account for one of the biggest reasons why there are believers who seem not to be making progress in life in spite of their seeming spirituality. The situation is even more compounded when older believers who should set the example for younger believers fall into this group. The implication is that there will be a generation of young believers who cannot seem to find the proper alignment between the Christian faith and being productive in life.   The story of the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17, clearly illustrates my point.  The Word of the Lord had come to the prophet to camp by the bro...

Blessed By Association - Updated

Abraham by God’s calling had become a blessed man walking in the blessing. God appeared to him, changed his name and gave him the covenant of circumcision. You would have thought that all this will happen to just Abraham and his family, but not so, the blessing as we see it (Gen 17: 12-14) was also for as many as were with Abraham at that time. They came into the lineage of blessing simply by association with the man Abraham, they were to be circumcised just like Abraham, and came under the same covenant blessing. These people who were associated with Abraham at that time, including his household servants, enjoyed the most of the covenant that God Almighty gave to him. It therefore goes to show that there are associations in life that will forever set you up for the blessing. That is why you must treasure the relationships that God brings into your life, and never take them for granted.  In one of the piece published on this blog,  Identity by association , it was emphasized t...

Flourishing in Hard Times

  No doubt we are in very challenging times, there seems to be crisis everywhere, and most economies in the world are affected. Many Christians have become casualties of the the economic hardship that is raging across the world, and worst still is that many seem really helpless even in the face of the obvious help that God has promised His people.   This piece seeks to highlight a few important points that could be of significance in helping the believer to flourish in these hard times.   1.      Know that your sins are forgiven and enter His rest   And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. Gen.26:1   The bible records that that there was a famine in the land and Isaac moved to Gerar. Gerar signifies a lodging place or a place of rest. Many believers have yet to come to that place of rest in Christ. They still live with a consc...
