Don’t cast away your confidence

As humans, we are somewhat constrained to put our life goals within the context of time. The implication of this is that while we work within the context of time, we fail to consider that our God operates in the realm of timelessness. It means that we have deadlines according to time perspective, but really God has no deadlines. He can show up on the scene at whatever time He so pleases and He did still be right on time. When we begin to factor in this fact that God dwells in timelessness, we could be a little more at ease with some goals or expectations that we affix with strict deadlines.

We are already in the twilight of the year, and you may already be feeling uneasy or probably disappointed that God has let you down in some way because some of the things you were expecting and had faith for haven’t yet come to pass. The disappointment could be more, particularly when some of those expectations are heavily time bound, like the expectation to give birth to a child or to get married within the year, which is now looking practically impossible. So the fact remains that there is always that feeling of disappointment that comes with not having your goals or expectations met, most especially when they are time bound. But the scriptures already gave us a word not to cast away our confidence which has a great recompense of reward. (Heb. 9:11)

Don’t let what hasn’t happened for you yet to make you feel like nothing is working in your life, and then to cast away your confidence. Be rest assured that if you are in faith concerning that goal or that expectation, it will come to pass. One thing though is that it may not happen in the exact way that you have figured out, but God will certainly bring it to pass.

For some other people, it may not even be about an expectation that hasn’t yet come to pass, it could be a business gone bad, it could be a bad decision that seem to have set you back or cost so much loss. Well, such nasty experiences are not uncommon, even to notable characters in the bible, but because they did not cast away their confidence in God, they eventually bounced back. I am glad to announce to you that if you also will refuse to give, but hold on strongly to your faith in spite of the set back, you will bounce back big time.

So wherever you are today, whatever may be the situation, don’t cast away your confidence in God and don’t feel disappointed. He is still very much God, He loves you, He wants the best for you, and He will come through for you. He is not bounded by time and so He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Cheer up and don’t give up!

Becoming a Person of Value

Over the years, I have come to realize that everyone likes to associate with people of value. It means that if you are someone who commands value, people will be drawn to you. If not, they will not. Now, suppose you find yourself always seeking to associate with others whom you consider valuable, but discover that not many people are eager to associate with you — this could simply mean that you are not yet commanding enough value. I use the words “not yet” intentionally, because I am mindful that we can all command great value if we take the right steps. Here are a few steps to help you truly become a person of value: 1. Have the Right Perspective The first step to becoming a person of value is to have the right perspective of who you are — who you are in Christ and the graces God has bestowed upon you. I do not think you can be of worth to yourself or to others if you do not first understand who you are in Christ. Remember, you are valuable in the sight of God, which is why He was wil...

Becoming a Person of Value - Part 2

In the first part of this series, I shared the first two steps to becoming a person of value: 1. Having the right perspective 2. Valuing people These are foundational principles for building true value. Today, I’ll share three additional steps that can help you on this journey. But remember—these steps only work when you internalize and practice them consistently. It’s not enough to know them; you must live them. 3. Value Knowledge and Learning The third step to becoming a person of value is to develop an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Be a lifelong learner, and to do that, you must remain humble. No matter how knowledgeable you are, there is always something to learn—even from those who may know less than you in other areas. As a Christian, growing in the knowledge of God is essential. It will strengthen your foundation in times of trials and storms. Keep pressing toward deeper understanding of Him (Philippians 3:13-14). The pursuit of God is the most noble quest of all. However...

Choose Honour

Some biblical stories can seem almost unreal to the modern mind, yet they hold timeless truths. One such story is the unfolding drama between King Saul and David, before David eventually ascended the throne of Israel. Naturally, we celebrate David as the hero in this narrative, and Saul is often remembered unfavorably. However, there are notable traits in King Saul that leaders and people of influence today can learn from. After all, Saul took a significant risk by allowing a young, unproven David to face Goliath, potentially putting the entire nation at the mercy of the Philistines. That kind of trust, against all odds, reveals a side of Saul that perhaps explains why he was chosen by God to lead in the first place. But the spotlight of this piece is on David—the man after God’s own heart. And rightly so, because David exemplified a profound understanding of honour, especially in how it relates to divine promotion and spiritual elevation. Consider this: David was relentlessly pursued ...
