My son, eat thou honey,
because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall
the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there
shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. Prov. 24:13-14
(KJV)
Revelation-knowledge is
a delicacy, sweet like flowing honey that melts in your mouth. Eat as much of
it as you can, my friend! For then you will perceive what is true wisdom, your
future will be bright, and this hope living within you will never disappoint
you. Prov. 24:13-14 (TPT)
Let us begin by asking you what your expectations are for
this year? It was Albert Einstein who said that we cannot solve problems by
using the same kind of thinking used when those problems were created.
Unfortunately, this is exactly what many people try to do.
People cross into a New Year with great expectations that
things will be different in the New Year or that things will work out
differently, but there is no real basis for this expectation, because they are
yet to really figure out what should be their part or contributions in bringing
those great expectations to pass. I know we pray and prayer is very good,
however, we should also note that in some instances, prayer is not an end , but
a means to an end – prayer can be the place where the Holy Spirit reveals
certain things to you that you can do differently to get all those great
expectations to come to pass.
You see, if you want to get unusual results, you must be
willing to take uncommon steps, and some of these steps may not make sense to
you or to the people around you. At other times, the people around you may even
oppose you. Jesus was going to do something unusual by saving humanity, but
when He discussed it with His disciples, they were sad and one of them even
rebuked Him. What do you think, if they knew what the outcome of His death
would mean to humanity, would they have been sad or rebuked Him? If you are
unwilling to do things differently and take unusual steps, then you may not be
ready for some of the unusual breakthroughs that you want to experience.
Abraham trusted God for a son alongside his wife Sarah, and
they had him in their old age, but there was more that God wanted to do for
Abraham. One time he received an unusual instruction to sacrifice that son and
by the next morning Abraham was on his way to carry out God’s instruction. We
know the outcome of that encounter and the rest is history. In my own personal
life and family, we have received these types of unusual instructions, and
taken steps to carry them out, and whenever we have done, we have experienced
remarkable turning points.
In this new season, as you wait upon God and as you pray, let
your heart be open to heaven’s instructions, and more importantly, be willing
to take bold and unusual steps to experience the great things you desire in the
year. This year, be willing to do something different, and be willing to push
further and harder not just in effort, but in faith, backed by true action. I
tell you the truth, you will have a glorious testimony at the end of the day.
Have a beautiful new year!!!
With Love,
Ola & Kemi
