External Activation

In a recent article I explained the process of internal activation as a first step towards living a permanent life of victory. In that piece, I pointed out that it all starts with believing, a deep-seated conviction in your heart, and such conviction can only come by constantly meditating on the word of God.

The next step will then be to activate externally, which is the subject of this piece. Let’s begin by looking at a very popular scripture in Rom. 10:10

For it is believing in the heart that makes a man righteous before God, and it is stating his belief by his own mouth that confirms his salvation. (PHILLIPS)

From this scripture you get the essence of the entire process, you activate internally by believing in your heart, and externally by confessing same with your mouth. I cannot over emphasize the place of constantly confessing boldly what God has said concerning you on your journey to a permanent life of victory.

There are many who don’t take their confessions of faith seriously because they cannot see the connection between what they believe, and why they must confess it, but the truth is unchanged by your feelings or by how you see it. If you were saved through this process, it follows that your faith is set upon this foundation, and everything revolves around this simple principle of faith.

There may be a time when you are learning the vocabulary of silence, and this is fine, but there also comes a time when you must have to speak boldly to match your believing. Some people are bothered about having to swallow their words if what they speak doesn’t eventually come to pass, but this is the strategy of the devil to keep your mouth shot. In doing this, you are being timid, and yielding to the devil’s intimidation to keep you perpetually in the place of defeat.

In Mark 11:23, the scripture says you shall have whatsoever you say. You can believe the very best you can and that is good in itself, but there is the place of speaking or saying what you believe, because that is what you will have. Someone said a closed mouth is a closed destiny, and I quite agree. Kenneth E. Hagin pointed out that there are three times more “saying” than “believing” in Mark 11:23, which underscores the importance of speaking beyond believing, if you want to experience a life of victory.

People have argued that if God has said something about you, then you can simply believe it, sit back and watch it come to pass. But In Heb.: 13:5b – 6, scripture says for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee SO THAT WE MAY BOLDLY SAY, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. It is not enough that He has said and that you believe it, it doesn’t just end there, you must also boldly say it.

If you care about seeing results in your life, move beyond the internal activation process of believing to externally activating your blessing by speaking them into being. Ensure that you are constantly speaking what God has said concerning you. Don’t speak right in one moment and the next moment negate the right speaking with negative words, that will keep you in the wilderness for much longer, just like the children of Israel on their way to Canaan. Rather you must endeavor to be diligent, matching your believing with your confession, and in no time, you will see the manifestations all around.

Find Your Place and Stay There

Like a bird that wanders from its nest is a man who wanders from his place. Prov.27:8 (NIV) One of the greatest advantages you can have in life is to find your place early and stay there. The challenges of life come to us all, but you may just find it so overwhelming when you are not in your place, as compared to the person who has found their place. I am sure that you have come across one or two persons in life who excel and have an utter sense of fulfilment in what they do in life. It doesn’t have to be really big sometimes, but you can tell that they are in their place, where they should actually be. You may also have come across some persons whom you will consider clear misfits where they are, and in what they do. The latter set of people are most likely not to be prospering as they should, or I should say, they have potential to prosper more, if they find their place and stay there. The same is true about your life. Sometimes you need to take a step back and ask yourself if you ar...

Two Things to Avoid to be Prosperous

He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. Prov.18:9 (KJV) In my last piece, I talked about the importance of finding your place, and staying there to command God’s Blessing. I emphasized the importance of staying power in whatever God has called you to do or committed to your hands. In this piece, I will seek to drive the conversation further, talking about two wrong attitudes that will greatly hinder the Blessing of God from finding expression in your life. Our text says the slothful is brother to a great waster, this is a very dangerous company indeed, and always a disaster waiting to happen. These two characters can never prosper and attain God’s highest Blessing. You may be working hard and making mistakes, but you must keep at it because, the man who tries and make mistakes will command the Blessing far more than the man who is slothful. God hates laziness! Laziness can disguise in many ways; a person can be spiritually lazy, and that...

Updated: Don’t Bind the Brook, Don’t Rebuke the Ravens - Simple Lesson in Obedience

Over the years I have come to understand the place of simple obedience to the instructions of God, and the huge difference it could make in one’s life. I have also come to see how easy believers can be in disobedience, yet be able to cover up with some form of spiritual activity, then in the end attempt to pass on the responsibility for their failures on God.   This can possibly account for one of the biggest reasons why there are believers who seem not to be making progress in life in spite of their seeming spirituality. The situation is even more compounded when older believers who should set the example for younger believers fall into this group. The implication is that there will be a generation of young believers who cannot seem to find the proper alignment between the Christian faith and being productive in life.   The story of the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17, clearly illustrates my point.  The Word of the Lord had come to the prophet to camp by the bro...
