Maximizing your Potentials

Maximizing your potential means identifying, developing, and actively using your hidden talents, skills, and inner capacity to become the best version of yourself and achieve your purpose as destined by God. At the heart of this concept is a powerful truth: you are capable of far more than you are currently demonstrating. There is a wealth of untapped ability within you, waiting to be discovered, developed, and put to use.  To rise to the next level or a new level, and become the best version of yourself, you must find ways to unlock and deploy that unused capacity. The challenge is not necessarily about acquiring more potential; it is about making the most of the potential you already possess. It is about moving beyond what you currently do, challenging your limitations, and turning dormant abilities into tangible results.  Ultimately, growth happens when you stop underutilizing what you have and start intentionally applying it to achieve what you are capable of becoming. Rise Up and Take Initiative

Many people are waiting for instructions that may never come. They are waiting for God to knock on their front door and tell them exactly what they should do. Some others are waiting for someone to tell them what to do, waiting for the perfect opportunity, but in actual fact they are holding tightly to their comfort zone because taking initiative requires courage. Yet, some of the greatest accomplishments recorded in Scripture came from people who saw a need, trusted God, and took initiative. When David arrived at the battlefield, he saw Goliath challenging the armies of Israel. Everyone else was afraid, but David was disturbed that this giant was defying the people of God. David asked a simple question: “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26) God had not directly instructed David to fight Goliath. David was not even a soldier. He was simply delivering food to his brothers. But when he saw the problem, he took ini...

I Want to Pray but I Don’t Know What to Pray For

This article was originally written and published about 10 years ago in 2016. It seem to be ever fresh and relevant even today. God refresh your spirit as you read. Perhaps you have found yourself wanting to pray, but just when you decide to pray, you are not even sure what you should pray for. Many times when this happens, it is not because you have nothing to pray about, but because you have so many things you would like to pray for in such a short time that you do not even know how to prioritize them. This challenge may seem small, but it hinders many people from praying at all. Some even substitute prayer with something else they feel more certain about simply because they did not know what to pray about when they should have been praying. There are also times when you feel the burden to pray. You know that the Holy Spirit is impressing it upon your heart to pray, yet you refuse to act because you are unsure of what you should pray for. Sooner or later, the burden will lift, ...

Resist The Pressure to Perform

A quote often attributed to Abraham Lincoln says, "If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first four hours sharpening the axe." Yet we live in a time when everyone seems to be more concerned with how quickly they can cut down their own tree than with whether their axe is sharp enough to get the job done. This reflects the intense pressure to perform that many of us face every day. When I speak of the pressure to perform, I am not referring only to workplace demands, but to the pressure we experience in our personal lives to produce visible results. Pressure can be a good thing when it is properly managed. It can motivate us to grow, improve, and reach our goals. However, when left unchecked, it can become destructive. One of the surest ways to manage the pressure to perform is by refusing to let the success of others become a source of unhealthy pressure in your own life. If you allow that to happen, you do yourself a great disservice. It is only natural to...

Value Vessels

In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. (2Tim.2:20-21) Men look at the use of a vessel, but God looks at its value. Wooden and earthen vessels in a house may appear more useful than gold and silver vessels, but the gold and silver vessels are far more valuable. God’s point of view, His regard is not for use; it is for value. It is not performance that brings the glory of God, it is value. How do you bring about this value? Start by fixing your Love walk Love is the halmark of our Christian faith Love for God and people is what attracts the glory of God upon a man and makes the man valuable. In a previous article I wrote I shared my thoughts on Paul and Silas’ experienc...

Success Through Strategic Partnership with God

Whenever I have had the opportunity to speak or write on the subject like this, I have always laid the foundation on the premise that God desires for us to prosper (3Jn.2). It is His will for all men, for all time. As the renowned faith apostle Kenneth Copeland puts it, “faith begins where the will of God is known.” Therefore, if you are not convinced that God wants you to succeed, you cannot effectively exercise your faith for success. Repeatedly, throughout both the Old and New Testaments, God makes it clear that He desires His people to prosper and succeed. One of the most remarkable success stories in the Bible is that of Jacob. This was a man who fled from home after taking his brother’s birthright, fully aware that his brother intended to kill him. He journeyed to a distant land and began working for a man named Laban. Laban attempted to exploit Jacob in many ways, even altering his wages to suppress his progress. But how do you keep down a man who carries the Blessing of ...

How to Attract Success 2

In the first part of this piece, I shared two important principles you need to succeed as a believer (you can catch up with the first part using this link: Part 1 ). I shared that although God has set laws in motion and placed abundant resources in the earth for our benefit, there are principles we must imbibe and things we must do to attract success. In this piece, I will quickly share the remaining three principles. As I mentioned in the introduction of the first part, these principles are by no means exhaustive, but I believe that if you practice them faithfully, you will experience great success. 3. Be Diligent Prov. 22:29: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Diligence is the steady, earnest, and painstaking effort applied to work, reflecting a strong work ethic, persistence, and careful attention to detail. It is surprising how some believers think that God will prosper anyone without the quality of dili...

Stretch

Isa. 54:2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. The concept of stretching is very important for anyone who desires to make any meaningful progress in life. God has so designed everything in a manner that makes it almost impossible to make progress without any stretch. Even the human body grows by this same concept. It has been revealed that for a muscle to grow, it must first undergo "micro-tears." When you lift a weight that is slightly too heavy, the muscle fiber stretches and tears. It is only in the repair of those tears that the muscle becomes larger and stronger than before. If there is no tension, there is no transformation. The "pain" of the stretch is actually the signal that growth is happening. So If the human body grows by stretching, it follows to say that to reach anything significant in this life, we must stretch. God will always require ...

How to Attract Success - Part 1

Success is often described as a journey rather than a destination. However, for the purpose of this piece, let us view success as a phenomenon that can be cultivated. God desires His people to be successful, and He has set laws in motion and placed abundant resources within our reach to help us achieve it. Yet, with all that God has provided, not everyone experiences success in the way they should. This is not due to any failure on God’s part, but on ours. Are there things we can do to better attract success into our lives? Absolutely. There are many, and in this piece I will highlight just a few. This list is by no means exhaustive, but if you apply these principles, you can be assured that success will follow by the grace of God. 1. Trust God Absolutely Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Trusting God completely is the primary key to attracting success as a believer. You may have heard stories of people who claime...

Steady Increase

Perhaps one of the greatest realisation that you will have in life is that the journey of life does not start and end in one day. If you have not come to that realisation yet, I believe you will eventually, at the right time. There will always be another day, so long as we are on this part of eternity. This realisation is fundamental to understanding why God also, being God, will not do everything He wants to accomplish in and through you in one day. God is systematic and He follows a process. Unfortunately, not too many believers realize this, many are only used to the suddenlies of God - sudden miracles, sudden outburst of power, which are all good, but for the most time, I have seen that God is systematic in His approach and if you are only fixated on those suddenlies, you are likely to miss Him. The scriptures make a solid case for this discussion. God led the children of Isreal out of Egypt to a land He had promised them before hand. The expectation was that God will suddenly deli...

Dare to Dream Again

Gen. 37:9  Then Joseph had another dream, and he told his brothers about it. He said, “I had another dream. I saw the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing down to me.” (ERV) Everyone grows up with a dream—big or small. And at certain stages of life, we truly believe those dreams are achievable. But as we mature and come face-to-face with the realities of the world, it can sometimes feel like those dreams may never move beyond mere imagination. That seemed to be the situation with Joseph, the son of Jacob—a young man with remarkable dreams. He shared his dreams with his older brothers, men who probably understood “how the world works” better than he did. Instead of encouraging him, they mocked him. If mockery was all they did, it might have been easier to bear, but...

Becoming a Person of Value - Part 2

In the first part of this series, I shared the first two steps to becoming a person of value: 1. Having the right perspective 2. Valuing people These are foundational principles for building true value. Today, I’ll share three additional steps that can help you on this journey. But remember—these steps only work when you internalize and practice them consistently. It’s not enough to know them; you must live them. 3. Value Knowledge and Learning The third step to becoming a person of value is to develop an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Be a lifelong learner, and to do that, you must remain humble. No matter how knowledgeable you are, there is always something to learn—even from those who may know less than you in other areas. As a Christian, growing in the knowledge of God is essential. It will strengthen your foundation in times of trials and storms. Keep pressing toward deeper understanding of Him (Philippians 3:13-14). The pursuit of God is the most noble quest of all. However...

Becoming a Person of Value

Over the years, I have come to realize that everyone likes to associate with people of value. It means that if you are someone who commands value, people will be drawn to you. If not, they will not. Now, suppose you find yourself always seeking to associate with others whom you consider valuable, but discover that not many people are eager to associate with you — this could simply mean that you are not yet commanding enough value. I use the words “not yet” intentionally, because I am mindful that we can all command great value if we take the right steps. Here are a few steps to help you truly become a person of value: 1. Have the Right Perspective The first step to becoming a person of value is to have the right perspective of who you are — who you are in Christ and the graces God has bestowed upon you. I do not think you can be of worth to yourself or to others if you do not first understand who you are in Christ. Remember, you are valuable in the sight of God, which is why He was wil...

Choose Honour

Some biblical stories can seem almost unreal to the modern mind, yet they hold timeless truths. One such story is the unfolding drama between King Saul and David, before David eventually ascended the throne of Israel. Naturally, we celebrate David as the hero in this narrative, and Saul is often remembered unfavorably. However, there are notable traits in King Saul that leaders and people of influence today can learn from. After all, Saul took a significant risk by allowing a young, unproven David to face Goliath, potentially putting the entire nation at the mercy of the Philistines. That kind of trust, against all odds, reveals a side of Saul that perhaps explains why he was chosen by God to lead in the first place. But the spotlight of this piece is on David—the man after God’s own heart. And rightly so, because David exemplified a profound understanding of honour, especially in how it relates to divine promotion and spiritual elevation. Consider this: David was relentlessly pursued ...

God's Simple Plan of Redemption

Man sold himself out to the devil making himself a bond slave and that slavery will last until the lease or period of man’s dominion expires. God must in some way redeem fallen man from his sin and Satan’s dominion. He must do it in such a way as not to be unjust to Satan nor unjust to man. God must recognise and hold inviolate man’s treacherous act of transference of dominion. It was a legal act and God has no right to arbitrarily annul it. He must show Satan perfect justice at all points, and at same time He must reach man in his helplessness and redeem him. In order to do this, it is necessary that one comes to the earth who is not a subject of Satan and yet a man, and as a man meet every demand for justice against man. In order to accomplish this, there must be an incarnation. This incarnate one must not be a subject of Satan, nor a subject of death, and to this end, God sends the Holy Spirit to a virgin in Judah and she conceives and bears a son. This son is born not of natu...

Reflections on what you see

There is an interesting story in II Kings 6:8-20. We read of the encounter of the prophet Elisha with the Syrian army. The background to this story is that the king of Syria had ordered his army to arrest prophet Elisha on the grounds of espionage. The troop sent by the Syrian king had moved in over the night and surrounded the town where the prophet dwelt.  By the time the servant of the prophet was up in the morning he observed that the troop from the Syrian army had surrounded their dwelling place. This fellow was so afraid and terrified that he immediately notified his master about the situation. Now, here's where the story gets really interesting, by the time prophet Elisha was informed about the situation and he saw the great army that had surrounded them, he was not even moved. He immediately knew that the reason this servant was afraid was because he was limited in his vision. He could only see in the physical, the Syrian troop that surrounded their dwelling place and nothi...

Dare to Keep Your Dream Alive

Gen. 37:9  Then Joseph had another dream, and he told his brothers about it. He said, “I had another dream. I saw the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing down to me.” (ERV) Everyone grows up with a dream, it could be a big dream or a small dream, depending on a number of factors. The beautiful thing is that at a certain point, we tend to be believe that our dreams are achievable. But it so happens that as you grow up and interact with the world system, you begin to see that your dreams may just stay at the level of dreams after all, and not necessarily be achieved. Well, it seem like that was the exact story of Joseph the son of Jacob in the bible. He was a young man with great dreams. He told his dream to his brothers who were older than him, and probably understood better how the world works, but rather than encouragin...
