A witness is a person who testifies to events or facts within his own knowledge. It means that once you have encountered Jesus and accepted Him as Saviour and Lord of your life, you are automatically a witness for Jesus.  My goal in this short piece is not to show again that God is reconciling the world to Himself through us, but to show that we can genuinely influence others for the Lord by being excellent in everything we do. What many are doing is direct evangelizing, and this is great, because that has its place as an important part of being a witness, but Jesus didn’t just say we shall evangelize to the world, rather He said that we shall be witnesses. Acts. 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Prov.18:9 (KJV) In my last piece, I talked about the importance of finding your place, and staying there to command God’s Blessing. I emphasized the importance of staying power in whatever God has called you to do or committed to your hands. In this piece, I will seek to drive the conversation further, talking about two wrong attitudes that will greatly hinder the Blessing of God from finding expression in your life. Like a bird that wanders from its nest is a man who wanders from his place. Prov.27:8 (NIV) One of the greatest advantages you can have in life is to find your place early and stay there. The challenges of life come to us all, but you may just find it so overwhelming when you are not in your place, as compared to the person who has found their place. I am sure that you have come across one or two persons in life who excel and have an utter sense of fulfilment in what they do in life. It doesn’t have to be really big sometimes, but you can tell that they are in their place, where they should actually be. You may also have come across some persons whom you will consider clear misfits where they are, and in what they do. The latter set of people are most likely not to be prospering as they should, or I should say, they have potential to prosper more, if they find their place and stay there. It is amazing the number of believers who do not really believe that we are redeemed and free. This is very easy to tell because redemption has an attitude, and where you cannot find that attitude, you can tell that there is a disconnect between what people profess, and what they truly believe.   Eph.1:7 In whom we have the redemption through his blood, the remission of the trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (YLT) Our redemption simply means that God paid the price to regain possession of us from the dominion of darkness, and He wiped clean all our records of wrong doing, through the eternal sacrifice of His Son.   I will premise this short write-up on the very popular scripture - John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV) The idea is to take a look at God’s love from a very simple perspective, and take out two important actions that characterize the love of God. So, let’s take a quick look at both actions; Giving The first action that characterizes the love of God is that He gave. God was so loving of us that He gave His son Jesus to die a shameful death on the cross to redeem us back to Himself. Let me begin this short piece by welcoming you to a new year. I pray that this year will be the year of the fulfillment of your greatest desires from God, and the Almighty will cause you to ride on high places. I want you to set the course for the year with a strong phrase line - God can be trusted. Undoubtedly, everyone at some point in life have been at that place where you were believing God for something, and you seem not to have gotten it. Those kinds of experiences present a unique opportunity for the devil to attempt to subtly convince you of God’s inability and unwillingness to meet your desires, but you must never give in to those thoughts. The bible says in Proverbs 3 verse 5, Trust in the Lord with all your heart. if you are not trusting in Him with all your heart, there will be room for doubts. Mark 7:37 We are at that season of the year again where you are forced to take stock of your life, and all that has played out over the year. You may reflect over your goals for the year or your goals for some years past now, to see how far you have truly come in your life journey. You may also be reflecting over some particular desire of your heart, and how long you have been waiting on God to bring that desire to pass.   As you make this reflection, you may find yourself in a place of gratitude, because you have experienced so much of God’s blessing.
