Others – This Christmas!

As I reflect on what to share that will be a great blessing to you this season of Christmas, I could think of no other message than to encourage you to let this Christmas be a time of loving and sharing with OTHERS. Most often we tend to share with only family and friends, but I encourage you this season to step out of that circle to be a greater blessing to OTHERS who are not necessarily family or friends. I leave you with this short piece which you may have read before and I pray that this will be your best Christmas season ever. It was Christmas Eve, 1910. General William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army in London, England was near the end of his life. His health was poor, and he was going to be unable to attend the Army’s annual convention. Booth had become an invalid, and his eyesight was failing him. No one knew that he would not live to see another Christmas. Somebody suggested that General Booth send a telegram or a message to be read at the opening of ...

Faith and the Word

Rom. 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom. 1:17  (KJV) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. By now you may be wondering why several of our discussions have focused on the subject of faith. Well, the answer is really simple, the scripture tells us that the Just shall live by faith. Since there is no other way for the believer to live, other than by faith, then faith becomes a very important subject of discuss. This is because the more understanding of the subject we have, the better we are able to live our lives. The word of God is the foundation of faith. Faith is inseparable from the word of God because where you find faith, you necessarily will find the word of God. This is why you will observe that people who fellowship where the word of God is properly taught have their faith more developed than those who fellowship in merely re...

Faith and Hope

Heb. 11:1. (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 6:18-19 (KJV) That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:   Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; The scriptures describe faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hence, it is impossible to discuss faith without touching on hope. If you have followed our discussion thus far, you would have learnt some fundamentals of faith like; Faith and the will of God , Faithand trust , Believe in God’s love , and so on. Now we come to yet another fundamental of faith – hope. Hope is an integral part of faith, but many usually mix both up because of how closely related they are. Faith isn’t hope and hope isn’t faith, but where you find fa...

Faith and Trust

Psalm 25:2 (KJV) O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me Matt. 27:43 (KJV) He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. As we continue our discussion on this crucial subject of faith, we must now look at another key factor of faith. Remember that we had previously discussed on Faith and the will of God , where we established clearly that faith begins where the will of God is known. If you haven’t read that piece it will greatly benefit you to do so, click here to read it now. In that discuss, we brought out the fact that if you keep attempting to exercise faith without first finding out the will of God concerning issues, then you will fall flat on your face many times. We established that the more this happens, the weaker your faith will grow, because your ability to trust God to keep His words will keep on decreasing. This is where trust becomes an essential facto...

Faith & the Will of God

I John 5:14 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us Rom. 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We have always emphasized the placed and importance of faith in getting answers to prayers, but there are many believers who can’t really even tell whether they are in faith or not. Someone may say I am believing God for so and so but I am not even sure if it is the will of God for me to have it or not. This is a big error that makes a mockery of faith itself. You cannot exercise faith where you are not sure whether what you are exercising faith over is the will of God or not. It is really that simple – faith begins where the will of God is known . The starting point of your faith is a certainty that what you are releasing your faith over is God’s will. If you ...

Focus your faith

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. We understand that faith is a spiritual currency with which we transact in the realm of the spirit. Hence, to be poor in faith is to lack sufficient transactional power with which to make dealings beyond the physical. Every believer has a measure of faith, but some have developed theirs while others haven’t really done much. The implication for those who haven’t done much with their faith is that they seem to have limited results compared to those who have put in effort to develop their faith. One of the reasons why those who haven’t developed their faith so much get limited results is because many times they tend to spread their limited faith energy in different directions, hence, the intensity of their faith becomes weaker in the various area it has been applied, which in turn may lead to lit...

Gather up the fragments

John 6: 12-13 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten . Jesus expressly told the disciples to gather up the fragments from the leftover of the feeding of the multitude. Perhaps the disciples didn’t see any need to gather up the remnant; at least a miracle had taken place, the people had been fed, so they could just forget about that experience because nothing else valuable could come from it. But they were wrong, Jesus directed that they gather up the fragments that nothing be lost, and eventually they gathered up twelve full baskets from the leftover. The disciples and the multitude viewed the leftover as being insignificant probably because they were scattered all over the place in small bits, but by the time they gathered them together, i...

Others!

Luke 4:18-19 18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. There are many who seek to be anointed but no matter how hard they try to get the anointing they never have it. Could it really be that God is denying them of the anointing or could it be that there is something that needs to be checked in their lives? For the purpose of this article, I will refer to the anointing as God’s manifested presence in and through the life of an individual, making such individual to prosper in ministry or secular work. I will draw a parallel from the life and ministry of Jesus to clearly illustrate my point. In the text that we read, Jesus clearly defined His mission before the audience gathered at the temple, a...

Believe in God's love for you

Have you ever wondered why believers lack faith in their faith? 1 John 4:16a (KJV) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. Galatians 5:6 (AMP) For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. My purpose for sharing this short piece is just to awaken your consciousness to God’s love for you, thereby stirring up your faith for greater things that God intends to do in your life. I will begin by quoting what a senior friend said to me some year back which has stuck with me ever since, he said, “if a person isn’t sure that God truly loves him/her, then such a person’s faith can never work.” I have thought about that statement for years, and I have come to the conclusion that it is true. Alas, this is the position of many believers today, and that perhaps includes you. If you have never really ...

Kenneth Copeland Ministries - Statement on the Supreme Court Decision

The Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges that established homosexual marriage as national policy is unambiguously wrong on at least three crucial levels: Moral, Constitutional, and Structural.   On the Moral Level The Court’s decision violates the moral standards specifically enumerated in our founding documents. The Declaration of Independence sets forth the fundamental principles and values of American government, and the Constitution provides the specifics of how government will operate within those principles. As the U. S. Supreme Court has correctly acknowledged:   The latter [Constitution] is but the body and the letter of which the former [Declaration of Independence] is the thought and the spirit, and it is always safe to read the letter of the Constitution in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence.   The Declaration first officially acknowledges a Divine Creator and then declares that America will operate under the general values set forth in “th...

BELIEVE YOU RECEIVE

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24  Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. This is one of the fundamental scriptures on the subject of faith which you must have heard preached a number of times. In this scripture lies the secret of possessing our desires in prayers when we realize that the words are the very words of Jesus as he taught His disciples on the subject of faith. Jesus established that there must be a desire, followed by prayers, then when you have prayed, you must believe that you have received your desires in prayers. This is the point where faith becomes difficult for many people. How do I believe I have received when nothi...
