Rich in Good Works

It was the Apostle Paul who instructed Timothy to charge the congregation that he was overseeing to be not high minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy. That they do good, be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate. Our emphasis for this short piece will however be on the verse 18 of 1 Timothy 6. One would have naturally expected that since these people were already believers, they knew these things and were equally practicing them. You see, sometimes believers run after the seeming big things of faith and doctrine and neglect some of the basic instructions of scriptures. Interestingly, it is actually some of these basics that complete your faith. In Acts of Apostles chapter 10, we read of the story of certain centurion name Cornelius. He was rich in good works but he had no salvation, an angel of the Lord had to appear to him to get Peter who would show him the way of salvation. Likewise,...

Follow Your Heart, Not Just The Money

It is true that money answers all things, and it is very important that you can always access money whenever you need it. I mean think of the possibility of being able to afford whatever you desire; that will be great! So, it isn’t surprising that people will channel their best effort into making money, same applies to many believers, as long as it is legal, they go for it. However, the thing that is of concern to me, and I believe to God also, is that there seem to be too many believers seeking financial prosperity using the world’s formula. You see, the key thing in the financial prosperity equation is the BLESSING; if the Blessing is upon whatever you are doing, you are bound to prosper. It goes to say that you need to allow the Lord to lead you to do whatever He has chosen to prosper you through. Now, you may be wondering if you have to hear God expressly before you take on any assignment or venture. Well, that will be great, but just like Kenneth E. Hagin said, you c...

Secrets I Have Learned - Oral Roberts

Secrets I Have Learned -  Oral Roberts Father of the faith Oral Roberts candidly shares from experience the principles he has learned through the years that have kept his ministry and personal life on track.Solomon, the richest and most successful man ever to live, uses the term "meaningless" no fewer than 31 times as he laments about his life in the book of Ecclesiastes. For him the struggles of youth had brought great obedience and focus. But he allowed the success of maturity only to bring him great distraction and ruin. It is a powerful lesson to us to remain vigilant. As we submit ourselves to the Lord, pursue Him with our whole heart and seek His guidance and wisdom, then we will succeed. But it is precisely at that moment of success that we will need to be the most submitted to the Lord and to our calling. Be careful when you want to buy everything you never had or ever wanted. Beware when you begin to think that you can't fail. Watch when your personal wal...

Why isn’t it working? Part IV

This is the concluding part of our series – why isn’t it working? If you have followed from the first part, then by now you are ready to begin to get results by putting the things you have learnt into good use. Remember that these steps should be taken in the order in which they have been outlined. Again, we remain grateful to the life and ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin, from which we have gleaned these truths. You may be interested in taking a personal study of his book – What to do when faith seems weak & victory lost, out of which these series has come from. Now, to the concluding steps; Step 9. Give glory to God even before it comes into manifestation. Thanksgiving before the manifestation is an act of faith, it means that you are convinced not only in the ability of God but also in His willingness to grant your desire to the point that you are already thanking Him for the result even though it is yet to manifest physically. When the scripture described Abraham as a m...

Why isn’t it working? Part III

In the first and second parts of this series, we considered five steps in answering one of the most frequently asked questions among believers – why isn’t it working? The steps outline are not in themselves exhaustive, and they are taken from the book What to do when faith seems weak and victory lost by Kenneth E. Hagin. Remember that the steps are to be taken in the order in which we discuss them, so if you are yet to read through the first two parts you can quickly read through following the links; Part I and Part II . Now we continue from the sixth step. Step 6. Ask God in faith, nothing wavering, believing that what is asked is yours. At this point you are ready to pray to receive from God whatever it is that you are desiring of Him. You have scaled through the first five steps and now you are closer to the answer that you seek. The scripture says for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and  that  He is a rewarder … Heb 11:6. In other words if you mus...

Why isn’t it working? Part II

In the first part of this series, we established that this is one of the most frequently asked questions among people of faith. Why does it seem as if after doing all you know to do, or all that you have learnt on faith, some things still just refuse to work out? Like I said in the first part, this is not an attempt to possibly answer all your faith questions, but to give some insights that may be helpful in your quest to find answers to those deep questions of your heart. Again, like I mentioned in the first part, the steps outlined in this series are adapted from the book - What to do when faith seems weak and victory lost by Kenneth E. Hagin. We have looked at the first two steps in our last piece, and now we will proceed to look at a few more steps. Step 3. Be sure you are not living in sin – practicing wrong doing. It is amazing that sometimes people are living in known sin, and they still expect that their faith will continue to produce results. Things don’t work like...

Why isn't it working? Part I

This question certainly ranks high on the frequently asked questions list of many believers, particularly when they seem not to be getting positive results in life after putting to work all the principles of faith and prayers that they have learnt. Well, the challenges of life come to us all, and if you have lived long enough as a believer, then you must have caught yourself asking this question either to yourself or to someone you think is in a position to help you strengthen things out. There could be several reasons why things may not be working as expected, and I should say at this point that I certainly do not have all the answers, but I hope to share with you a few things which I have also learnt and I trust that it will profit you.  The steps that I will share in this series are well outlined in the book – What to do when Faith seems weak & victory lost by Kenneth E. Hagin , so you may as well get the book and read to gain more insight. I hope to take the steps...

Follow your heart, not the trend

If you have lived long enough, you would have observed that from time to time, there is always a new trend. The trend could be in any area of life such as; ministry, business or money making, relationships, family organization, work, and so on. These trends will always come and go after sometime, then a new trend will surface again, and so goes the cycle.  Interestingly, some trends are good, and some aren’t so good, but as a believer, you should learn to follow your heart and not the trend. The mere fact that it is the trend, and everyone else is participating, even people you trust and highly esteem, doesn’t necessarily mean you also have to. Many have made great losses by following such trends whether in ministry, business or other areas of human endeavor. I will encourage that you always follow the deepest premonition of your heart before you jump on anything.  You may be doing something that you are well convinced is from your heart, but not getting the expec...

Your access to financial blessing starts here.

The story of Jacob in the bible (Gen 28:20-22) is an interesting one and typically demonstrates the current reality of most young people who are on a quest to a great start in life to become really successful. The desire to be successful almost seem to be a natural instinct, because life is unforgiving when you are not. So, Jacob sets out on this journey of uncertainty, particularly on the grounds that he was being hunted by his twin brother because of the drama that had ensued as a result of the Blessing Isaac conferred on him. As Jacob journeyed, he came to a certain place at night where he decided to spend the night. That night he had a dream where he was assured of the Blessing on him. Then Jacob made a vow, that wow is the basis of this short piece. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall ...

Consistency – Our personal welcome note to you

Let me begin this short piece by welcoming you to a new year, may this year be the year of the fulfillment of the greatest desires of your heart, and may the Lord Almighty cause you to ride on your high places. I am aware that you have received some heavy prophetic declarations for the year and now you expect to be propelled by the power of those prophetic words to experience a higher life this year. To take it a little further, in addition to the prophetic words that you have received, it is what you do daily beginning from today that will determine whether you will truly experience the higher life or not. As they say, the secrets of great men are hid in their daily routine. You need to ask your self what your daily routine will be in order to experience a higher life. You cannot do the same things you have been doing in previous years and expect to get a different result this year. If you have not been getting the kind of results you desire in life, then the time to make the...
